About Spring, Texas

Origin

Over the years, Spring, TX, has seen different stages of development. The earliest reports of Spring can be dated back to the early 1800s when the first settlers, Orcoquiza Native Americans, settled here. The area advanced by becoming part of Harrisburg Municipality. Then, a trading post was built around the spring creek area. 
 
In the mid-1800s, Germans migrated to Spring and engaged in farming cash crops like sugarcane and cotton. In 1947, the community had roughly 700 residents. Decades on, Spring saw more growth as Houston expanded Northwards. 
 

Attractions in Spring, Texas

The original town of Spring—Old Town Spring—is situated in the middle of Hardy Roads and Spring-cypress. This place is now a fun destination as it holds shopping malls, museums, antique architectural structures, etc. Spring residents also engage in hiking, biking, and horseback riding at Spring Creek Greenways. Sometimes, they pick strawberries at the Atkinson Farms. Other times, they enjoy delicious meals from restaurants scattered around.
